Hey! 👋 Here's what I promised you — with a quick update first:

No need to pay for Veo, Kling or Sora: LTX by Lightricks is a video model you download and run on your own machine. Since the reel, Lightricks released LTX-2.5 — LTX Desktop now uses 2.5 by default, and LTX-2.3 is still in the app's Model menu.

1. LTX-2.3 — give it text or an image and it gives you back a video with the audio built in: speech, sound effects and music, generated together with the picture. Up to 4K.

Open weights, not open source: the code is on GitHub, but the model weights come under the LTX community licence — free for individuals and companies under $10M annual revenue; above that you need a paid commercial licence.

2. LTX Desktop — a free, open-source (Apache-2.0) app: you download the models once, then generate and edit everything in one app — Text / Image / Audio to Video, Retake (regenerate part of a clip), Extend (add frames before or after a clip), a generation queue and an Assets library. Still in beta.

Setup

Download the installer for your system from the latest release (Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon or Linux).
Install and launch LTX Desktop.
On the first-run Setup screen, sign in to Hugging Face (needed for the gated 2.5 weights) and download the models.
Generate — it runs on your own hardware, with no cost per generation. An LTX API key is optional, never required.

Check your PC first (local generation)

Windows / Linux: NVIDIA GPU with 24 GB+ VRAM (32 GB recommended) and 32 GB RAM.
Mac: Apple Silicon with 48 GB+ memory on macOS 26+ (32 GB is limited to 540p and 5 s).
100 GB+ free disk space.

Weaker PC? Below the minimum, LTX Desktop shows "Coming soon to your device" instead of the generation tools. WanGP (free, built for smaller GPUs) also runs LTX-2.3 / 2.5:
