3 tricks so Claude Code stops hitting the limit

Hey! 👋 Here's what I promised you:
Hitting the limit fast, even on a small plan like Pro? Often the problem is how many tokens each message sends, not the plan itself. These 3 tricks are built into Claude Code — nothing to install.
1. `/model opusplan` — Opus does only the planning, Sonnet writes the code. Opus is the heavy model; Sonnet is enough for most of the coding.
/model opusplan
Then switch to plan mode with Shift+Tab (until the status bar shows plan mode on): Opus makes the plan, and when you approve it, Claude Code switches to Sonnet to write the code.
2. `/compact` — Claude re-reads the whole chat on every message. When the chat gets long, /compact replaces the history with a short summary, so you keep what matters and stop paying for the rest. You can tell it what to keep:
/compact Focus on code samples and API usage
/clear starts fresh and costs nothing.3. `ultrathink` — for a hard task, add the word ultrathink anywhere in your prompt and Claude thinks through the whole problem before it writes anything. It's a keyword, not a slash command:
Refactor this checkout flow so it handles failed payments. ultrathink
ultrathink only on the hard turns — deeper thinking on one turn saves you the retries, but you don't need it for simple edits.Want more? Go further in the Atlas Room Skool class
